🛠️ FVG / VI – Application #
Effectively using imbalances with the Momentum Structure indicator
✅ Enable FVG and VI in the settings #
To display imbalances on your chart, enable the following options:
- Fair Value Gap
- Volume Imbalance

🔧 You can customize:
- The bullish/bearish colors for each type of zone
- Whether to highlight the bar that created the imbalance with the “Bar Color” option
💡 Tip: Use contrasting colors to instantly spot FVGs and VIs on your chart.
🔄 Control zone extensions #
At the top of the settings, you can choose how the imbalance zones extend on the chart:

- No Extension: the zone stops at the wick of the last candle involved in the imbalance

- Current Bar: the zone extends up to the current price

- Extend Right: the zone keeps extending to the right until it is filled

🎯 Display types available #
The indicator offers several ways to visualize imbalances:
🟧 Fair Value Gap (FVG) #
Displays a filled area representing the gap between the wicks of three candles.
- Bullish FVG: strong bullish impulse – price moved up too fast → likely revisit
- Bearish FVG: strong bearish impulse – price dropped too fast → likely revisit
🟦 Volume Imbalance (VI) #
Displays a rectangular zone between the bodies of two consecutive candles, representing a pure price gap. Two filling modes are available:

- Body Filling Mode: the VI is only considered mitigated if a candle body enters the zone

- Wick Filling Mode: the VI is filled based on wicks, not just candle bodies.

📌 Just like with FVGs, you can customize bullish/bearish colors and activate Bar Color to highlight the origin bar.
🧽 Manage filled zones #
The Delete Mitigated option lets you remove FVGs / VIs once they are partially or fully filled:
- 100%: the zone disappears only when fully filled
- 50%: the zone disappears once the price reaches the midline
⚖️ Manage the Midline (50%) #
You can enable the midline of each FVG or VI by checking the “Midline” option.
Why it’s useful:
- It marks the perfect equilibrium point for institutions
- It often acts as a reaction level: rejection, consolidation, or reversal
💡 Tip: Turn it on to fine-tune your price analysis and spot key rebalancing levels.
🧩 Tips & Best Practices #
- Combine FVG and VI on the same zone to boost reaction probability
- Check if an FVG is in a Premium / Discount area (using the IBDR module)
- Use FVGs on PO3 candles to confirm the market phase
- Watch for rejections around the midline – they often indicate reversals or “fake mitigations”
📍 Summary #
✔️ Highlight Fair Value Gaps and Volume Imbalances
✔️ Define VI mitigation using Body or Wick logic
✔️ Auto-hide filled zones at 50% or 100%
✔️ Extend imbalance zones into the future if needed
✔️ Display the 50% midline for more precision
