❓ FAQ – Momentum Structure #
🧲 VI vs FVG: what’s the difference? #
- FVG: formed between the wicks of 3 candles → classic imbalance.
- VI: formed between the bodies of 2 consecutive candles → pure “gap” with no transactions.
💡 They reflect different types of imbalances. Use both for more precision.
🟧 Why are my FVG or VI zones disappearing? #
It depends on the “Delete Mitigated” setting:
- 100% → zone disappears when fully filled.
- 50% → zone disappears when price reaches the midline (50%).
🟥 The BPR doesn’t appear. What should I do? #
Make sure you’ve enabled “Show” under the BPR section.
💡 BPRs only appear when two opposite FVGs overlap. You need a specific setup: a sharp move in one direction, followed by another in the opposite direction.
🧠 PO3 Daily or Weekly – which one should I use? #
- Daily → best for reading intraday structure (Asian → London → NY)
- Weekly → useful to place the current day within the institutional weekly cycle
💡 Use both for a strong multi-timeframe context.
🟦 I don’t see the STD (Standard Deviation) module. Why? #
Two possible reasons:
- Your chart’s timeframe is higher than the one selected for STD.
- 👉 Example: STD set to 15min, but your chart is 1H → ❌
- No valid consolidation was found during the selected time range (e.g. Max pip % is too low).
- 👉 Try increasing the value or switch to a different day.
⏳ What is “Max pip %” in the STD module? #
It’s the maximum allowed size of a consolidation (measured in pips).
👉 If the range is too wide, it won’t be detected.
💡 Default: 25% – increase it if no consolidation is found.
📈 Is the 50% (Midline) level really important? #
Yes. In FVGs, VIs, BPRs, and STD, the midline represents:
- An institutional equilibrium point
- A common zone of reaction: rejection, bounce, or consolidation
💡 Always activate it to refine your analysis.
🔔 Why aren’t there any alerts in Momentum Structure? #
Momentum Structure is a visual, contextual tool. It’s not meant to generate automated signals.
👉 It’s designed for traders who actively analyze price action and look for confluences between institutional elements.
